Figure 3.3 above using a table format, highlights major events in the South - timeline of its history post World War 2. Looking at the year 2007, it is clear that relations between the two countries was at an all time high, with 3 historic events occurring all with the aim to improve the relations between the two countries. However, following this high of 2007 it was followed with a series of events which severed these relations and left Korea divided once again.
